Christ Enlight
A New Vision of a Timeless Truth

What happens at a Christ Enlight gathering?

Christ Enlight gatherings can be held in almost any setting.  The participants gather and are seated on chairs or cushions.  The first few minutes are spent getting acquainted and handling any concerns.  Then the participants settle in for 20 to 30 minutes of silent meditation.  When the time for meditation is over, a small bell is sounded.  The leader then offers a talk that relates to an aspect of what Jesus taught and how it impacts us.  The goal of the talk is to explore how we might find peace, joy, lower our stress levels, and move toward union with God.  The time together concludes with an informal sharing of bread and wine/juice.

What is the purpose of a Christ Enlight gathering?

We don't believe that entering into a period of prayer, discussion, and an agape meal needs a purpose beyond that we gather to express our spiritual selves and explore the possibility of union with the divine.  Different people attend the gatherings for different reasons - some for companionship, some to learn to meditate, some seeking an answer to a life question, and others for spiritual reasons.  The truth is there are probably as many reasons as there are people who attend - but the good news is that is perfectly fine.  You don't need a reason, you just need to come!

AUSTIN, TEXAS

Karori Contemplatives

Karori Contemplatives meets in Austin, TX on Sunday evenings for prayer, community, and ontological dialogue.  What is ontological dialogue?  It's a conversation of discovery in which the leader cannot have any judgments or preconceived notions and must be willing to be as real with group members as she wants them to be with her. The leader does not talk to or at participants but, rather, with them. The leader/priest does not take the position that she knows more than the members; rather she is an equal present to learn and experience as much everyone else since we all have innate God-given wisdom emanating from the very nature [of God] we all possess. From that very level playing field they come to experience and know God.

This group does not presume or require any particular spiritual or religious affiliation!
